High efficiency OLED devices can be fabricated by forming excimer complex (exciplexes) with electron deficient (electron-deficient) molecules (such as B4PyPPM) with TADF characteristics. Because it has a very high triplet energy level E.T= 2.7 eV, is also often used as exciton blocking layer (exciton block layer).
